Care Guide
Even the finest materials require some care. If you love our jewellery as much as we do, it's a good idea to give it some attention from time to time, especially if you wear it regularly. Let us show you how!
Solid gold jewellery is a lifelong companion. Unlike gold-plated or vermeil jewellery, there's no risk of discolouration. Our 14-karat gold is resilient and enduring. Nevertheless, gold is a relatively soft material, so we recommend handling our delicate pieces with care.
Cleaning
While solid gold doesn't tarnish, it can become slightly dull and lose its lustre over time. No need to worry, though, as this is a simple issue to address.
To restore the brilliance of your pieces, using a gold polishing cloth is often all it takes. This is especially effective for chains, making the cleaning process quick and easy: simply hold onto the clasp of the chain and encircle it with the cloth held in your other hand. Gently pull the chain through the cloth, repeating the process until the chain has been cleaned from all angles. Finish by polishing the clasp.
For more stubborn soiling, soak your jewellery in lukewarm water with a few drops of mild dish soap for a few minutes. Then, use a soft brush to gently remove the dirt. This method is especially useful for reaching intricate areas, that a polishing cloth alone may not reach. You can use a toothbrush for this purpose, ensuring it has very soft bristles (e.g. children's or baby toothbrush), and proceed gently and cautiously. Rinse thoroughly with water, but never over an open sink! Pat dry, and you're good to go.
For an extra dose of shine, give your jewellery a final dry buff with an appropriate cloth (such as a soft microfiber cloth). And there you have it – ready to wear!
Storage
We recommend storing your jewellery individually and softly cushioned, ensuring all chains are fastened. This prevents scratches and keeps your chains from tangling. Our vegan velour jewellery pouch, which we provide with every piece, serves this purpose beautifully!
Lastly, remember that our jewellery is meant to be part of your everyday life. So, don't fret if you notice small scratches, especially on rings. Gold is a soft material after all. This just shows how much you love your solid gold jewellery. Simply follow our care advice and regularly clean your favourite pieces to enjoy them for many years to come.
